This was an assignment about the elements & principles of designs. We had to create different things with different shapes and text. I am pleased with my designs I created, I really like how all the colors worked together. Out of the three, I created my favorite is the complementary design, I really liked the colors and the ways I used texture and line to help focus on the focal point. My least favorite design is monochromatic, I feel like the textures are random and I wish it was more organized. A tool that I used to improve a design was the brush tool on my text design. I used the brush tool to make it look like there is confetti in the background of my design. In future designs, I would like to try out all the tools to better my designs.
Photo Re-creation:

I selected this tree to recreate because of the organic shapes in the original image. I feel that I was pretty successful in recreating the photo. I am proud of the flowers, although they were difficult to recreate, it was fun using different brush tools to create the shape. I feel like I could have improved on the background I think it looks a little sloppy, I wish I would have blurred it before beginning my image. Completing this project did help me to get more familiar with the tools and to learn the differnt ways I can use them to manipulate my images.

I feel like I was very successful in creating a new species of animal, I used both features from penguins and polar bears. I used the polar bear image to create the fur on the penguin's stomach. I also used the coloring of the penguin to blend the head into the penguin's body. I used the blur tool to make the body and head blend together so it was not obvious that they were put together. A weak area for me was remembering to create new layers, so if I mess up I would be able to get rid of it. I had to restart some areas due to this. Overall, I think it looks pretty good.
Inanimate Objects:

My assignment was to create objects into a real thing. I selected the objects because they have strong horizontal lines. I used the liquify tool to create the holes where the eyes and the mouth would go. I used the elements of teeth and eyes to create the realistic factor of emotions. My favorite part was using the liquify tool to create the holes for the eyes. My least favorite part was when I would try to liquify the object again to match with my teeth or eyes, and you could not see what it looked like, It was a guess and check.

I chose to do my shoes because I like the pattern and knew what theme I would use for them. I think I was very successful in getting consumers to purchase my product because I said that half of the money paid for the shoes goes to soldiers. I also used the image of the soldier in the corner to pull everything together with the camo theme. I made sure to use outer glow, drop shadows, and stroke to draw attention to all of my text used and imagery. Yes, I think that my ad gets to the point, but also has a creative edge. Another thing I would like if I was a consumer is knowing since I bought the shoes I am helping someone else.

The colors I chose are orange, pink, purple, and royal blue. Orange represents happy, pink represents warm, purple represents creative and blue represents reliable. feel like my use of positive space is pretty equal throughout my image. My use of negative space is also pretty equal to each other. I used the gradient tool to create the background colors so it was not so plain. I overlapped all the images just a little bit in the corners. I used the stroke and outer glow tool to draw attention to my text. for my images, I used the blur tool to make the images not have such a harsh line. I feel like the purple is my main focal point, however, I tried to make them all pop out, I feel like all of these traits are related in some way. So I wanted them all stick out. I am happy with how my image turned out. I was a little nervous about it at first because the images weren't going together and I had to find some new images to make things work, overall though I am happy with the finished product and how I made all the images go together.

All of my images reveal information about my life because these are all things I like to do and the people I spend my time with. The photos are of my family and friends. The little images in the corners are things that are important to me. My dog is in the left corner at the bottom, so is my cat. Then in the right-hand corners is a flower because I like nature. Below the flower is an elephant image because I love elephants. My background is the ocean because I love to be at the ocean. To make my imagery interesting and eye-catching, I put images all around to keep the eye moving. I used the blur effect to make my images lines not so harsh. I used outer glow to draw attention to the text and make it legible.
