Reflection:

This a chalk pastel drawing of a still-life, I used observation skills to create this drawing. I incorporated the shadows and light changes as best I could in the drawing. One thing I like about my drawing is the different values of light and dark I used on the mason jar. I added lots of whites, grays, and blacks into it. Especially on the left side, I really like the dark value I got. The next thing I liked was my use of the color theory, I used a blue pastel under the green in the leaves, to dull it down. However, if I could back I would try to eliminate using the black and also add more details into the leaves. Next, I like the textures I got with the yellow flowers, I really like how I added the purple under and over the yellows to create a slight shadow. Another eye-catcher is the contrast between the dark bottle and the light objects surrounding it. I feel like there is some sort of movement throughout my piece, I feel like it goes from the leaves to the mason jars, to the bottle, and finally the pin. It is almost like a zig-zag pattern, but I think ultimately works together.
