Where do you live? - Right now, I live in Northern Virginia.

How did you get started?  - I really wanted to show  how important it is to honor, document and tell the stories of these life altering relationships for both ourselves and for our furry best friends.

What is your educational background? - I have a BFA in Photography from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

When you are out shooting a subject, how many shots do you take of one subject? How much planning is involved in the quest for the “perfect shot?” - Sessions are about capturing personality, character, heart and soul - no training is necessary to capture those things because they all happen naturally. Unlimited patience is essential to creating a loving and fun atmosphere where pets (and people) feel comfortable enough to let their personalities shine.

How much time do you spend with your camera each day? What type of camera/ equipment do you use?-  For my clients, I use a Nikon 810. My favorite lenses are the 70-200 for most shots , the 35 for wider angle shots, and the 85 for the perfect head shot.

Do you use any programs, such as Photoshop to alter your imagery? Any other software or programs used? - I use Lightroom, but also have to use PS Creative Suite 5 for leash removal. The majority of pets that I work with are not well trained and are on-leash their entire session.

Why did you choose to do pet photography?  - The relationships that we have with our pets,  these amazing creatures that always give their love so unconditionally, are some of the most important relationships of our entire life. One of my favorite things is to show people just how palpable the love is that they share with their pets.  It’s one of the most beautiful things in the world to me, it drives and inspires me.

How long have you been shooting pets? - I have been shooting for 7+  years. I've successfully worked with hundreds of dogs at every level of training. Since 2009, I've been one of the premier photographers in the industry specializing in pet and people photography.
